Why Vienna?
Vienna, the city where the old meets the new
There has yet to be a city in Europe that relishes facades while simultaneously relishing even more about what’s behind the facade. Whether it be politics, a grumpy face, or a summer palace; there is always more than what meets the eye.
CAFES
My favorite cafes in Vienna
Burggasse 24
This cafe is both a vintage shop and a coffeehouse. You can peruse their collection of carefully selected pieces and/or find a cosy spot and cuddle up with a book. In the winter, they have a fireplace running and in the summer they have outdoor seating.
Address:
Burggasse 24, 1070 Vienna
What I like about it
I feel like I could stay there all day and I can be there for any reason. They have plenty of outlets for laptops so you can do some work, or you can pick out a couch and read, or you can sit and chat with a friend.
Das Cafe
This cafe was founded in 1998 and has been used as an exhibition space for young designers in Vienna ever since. Every piece of furniture that you use while you drink your coffee, you can purchase and take home with you.
Address:
Burggasse 10, 1070 Vienna
What I like about it
This cafe is great for group projects and last-minute deadlines. There's always a nice buzz and the waiters are very attentive.
phil
This cafe is a bookstore by day and a bar by night. They also host lectures and events in the evening and serve food all day.
Address:
Gumpendorfer Straße 10, 1060 Vienna
What I like about it
You will be frowned upon if you bring your laptop but you'll be distracted by all of the cool books and the retro atmosphere anyways. I like to go here to people watch and try out all of their tasty drinks.
